How to Apply for a JE Fan Club [Jul. 23rd, 2009|03:50 pm]
je_help
So... you just moved to Japan, and the first thing you want to do is.....

JOIN A FAN CLUB!!!!!

Here I'll give you the 411 (yea, I'm old school like that) on how to apply for Johnny's Entertainment (JE) fan clubs.

The first thing you need to do is go to the post office and get yourself a white with blue print (similar to, but not exactly like the one shown in the example) from your local or closest post office. You can usually get it from those little table/counters. If not, you can try your luck asking for it. It is called a 払込取扱票 (Harai Komi Toriatsukai Hyo, or u can also ask for a "Furikomi Youshi"(振込用紙) which should give you the same sheet).

So the first thing you need to decide is what fan club (and how many) you are going to be applying for.
Here is the list of FC names and the groups that are included in them. (I will get to the Johnny's Jr. part later).

Photobucket

By now you have realized that NewS, KAT-TUN, and Kanjani 8 are all in the same fan club. This is the best bang for your buck. Three groups for the price of one.

Also note that Uchi-kun (as of 7/2009) and Ikuta Toma are both considered Johnny's Jr.

For each fan club you want to join (each account number) you will need a different "Harai Komi" Sheet. Please fill it out like the following examples.

general
Here's a sample of what a filled out application for You & J. Note that for the third section of the account number, there is a space in the first 百 area of the third section of numbers. On the newer forms, this box is a bit bigger than the others, so it is easy to differentiate from the others.

sample

Be careful when you write the account number in.  Make sure to align every section of it (there are three) to the farthest right.  (this will leave the first box in the 3rd section, with the ※, blank)

Make sure you write everything (except for your name, you can leave that in roman letters) in Japanese.  If you aren't confident in your writing, ask the post office worker (or a friend) to write it for you.  They will do it if you ask.
After you have filled out the forms and checked, and double checked all of the information you are ready to pay.  For new memberships, it costs 5,000 yen (1,000 for entering, and 4,000 for annual membership) per fan club.
So (I know this is common sense for most of you, but) if you want to join Arashi and You&J, you will need 10000 yen to initially join.

You can either pay 120 yen to have someone at the desk help you (but you need to go during business hours for the bank, which is usually 9-4) or you can use the ATM's ペイジー option for 80 yen.  The only catch with the ATM is that you can only use the Japanese menus. Check out this entry to use Pay Easy at a JPost ATM.

Hope this helps someone!

Re:

Thank you so much for writing this! It's such a big help!
I do have some questions, though.
Actually, I am visiting Japan at the end of September. I'll be
living there for at least 10 months. (I'm attending an exchange program
in a university in Fukuoka.)

Is it still possible for me to join the fanclub?

thanks in advance!

Re:

It is possible as long as you have an address you can use, a phone, and an id that will have your address on it! The only thing is that you will have to ask someone to forward you your things for the last two months of your membership.

Hi! Wow this is so helpful!
Just one question!
It says "So (I know this is common sense for most of you, but) if you want to join Arashi and You&J, you will need..."

Uhh..what do we need?? Lol!

All of your information was really helpful but I just have one question about it. I filled out the 払込取扱票 for Arashi and went to my post office to hand it in. I paid the 4000 yen plus 1000 yen joining fee (also the 120 yen charge) and they gave me back the little tear off slip on the side with a 6 digit number Asakusa bank and then another row of numbers (which I kept) but after that they just kept pointing down at the ATM but I didn't know what they meant because they had already taken my 払込取扱票. Am I part of the club or do I still need to do something? Thanks again for the above and sorry about the really long question.

Asakusa Bank? I don't know why they had that bank information on it.
The little slip on the right is ur receipt. For arashi's FC, you have to wait about a month (well, up until June) to get your membership.

You will get your fan club card in the mail, at which time you must register your email address (must be a paid account) through the website.

Thanks a lot!
So some question you are really clear but I prefer to check if I have understand all ^__^
This is not a specific J's paper to apply, just a usual one where we can find in any post office ?
I've a friend who lives in Japan so I can use her adress but it's an obligation to have also a japanese phone number, I guess?

no, its not a sepcific form from JE. It's just the 払込取扱票from the post office.
You need to have a valid Japanese phone number, and remember that if your name is being used, YOU need to go to to the post office to get any money returned for not hitting for a con/play/event with a valid ID that has your name and the address printed on the check. I would suggest ur friend using her own name since her ID will have the address you are using.

Thanks a lot for this! I'll probably need this when applying for a fan club.
However I'd also be interested to hear about the Johnny's Jr part. My Japanese is bad so I don't quite get what is said about the Johnny's Jr Information Center or whatever it is in Johnny's net so I wondered if you would mind clarifying things for me. How exactly do I join that one? I didn't see it posted and thought it'd be okay to ask. I'm sorry if you have already answered the question somewhere and I didn't see that.
Thanks a lot already in advance and for the information in this post all in all!

Thank you very much! It helps a lot!
But I have a question: I will join a JE Fanclub with the address of a Japanese friend. But the name in "application" can be different from the name in "contact information" or it must be the same?
In summary, can I use my name (i think these informations will be on the FC card) or can't I?
(sorry for my bad english >_>)

I am not really sure what you mean about "contact information" because there is only one name on the application.
Your name is never printed on your card, but the person who is registered to the FC might have to present ID at events to prove residency and identity and their name will be printed on the tickets and checks.

Hey, do you happen to know if we can change addresses in the middle of a membership? Say I want to get a membership in January, but I won't have an actual address in Japan until September. Could I possibly apply for a membership using a friend's address and then change my address later on?

(Obviously doing this for concert ticket lottery reasons...)

I'm guessing they may say something about this on the fan club site, but I obviously don't have access to it. It'd be great if you can find out for me. Thanks!

yes, you can do that by accessing your fanclub site. The only warning I have is that if the tickets get lost in the mail for some reason, the person's name and proof of residence on an ID are required by JE.
